Polish Wedding at Biagio Events // Agatha + Wojtek
Biagio Events Wedding
This week we bring you the fabulous wedding of Agatha and Wojtek (pronounces Voy-check) at Biagio Events. Biagio has recently renovated and is now sporting a fresh modern look and is a great Chicago-land venue. If you’re not familiar with their story you can see Agatha and Wojteks engagement session featuring a Cessna 172. The day began at their home where Agatha was getting ready with the rest of her ladies. Wojtek arrived with his gentlemen for a unique first look where each of the bridesmaids first walked out with letters spelling the word ‘love’ followed by the bride herself! If you’re debating on having a first look by the way, check out page 5 from our Wedding E-Book.
St. Michael in Old Town
From there we departed for the ceremony at St. Michael in Old Town. St. ‘Mikes’, is a staple Chicago church with gorgeous architecture and dates back to 1852! It’s quite a long walk down the aisle but this church gives you a large cathedral feel but in one of the smaller and more quiet neighborhoods in Chicago.
Chicago Wedding Portraits
Before heading to Biagio for the reception we took a tour around the loop and Lincoln Park South Pond ! South Pond is a spectacular spot for portraits but do mind that there may be quite a few other wedding parties there on a nice summer afternoon. The loop and Michigan Ave have even more traffic but when you’re decked out in a tux and wedding dress as bride and groom, most folks are happy to clear out of the way.
From there it was off to Biagio where the couple was greeted by their parents and two little shot glasses. If you’re not familiar with Polish wedding traditions, the parentswill present one glass of vodka and one of water to the couple. Without knowing which is which, the bride picks first and both drink at the same time. Whoever ends up with the vodka will be the dominant partner in the relationship. We’ll let the images below speak for who got what glass.
