Military Wedding at City Hall Chicago
Military Wedding Chicago City Hall
While not a full Military Wedding, Amalia and Stan are planning a larger reception down the road. In the meantime they decided to have a small intimate ceremony at City Hall in Chicago. It was our studios first wedding shoot of 2018 and it turned out to be a great January Saturday to get some outdoor portraits.
If you’re planning on getting married at city hall, January is one of the best times of year. With the weather being cold, most couples are opting to wait for warmer days. This is a factor because of the wait times during the summer and spring months. City hall is on a first come first serve basis and a line starts bright and early in the morning. The wait time can be an hour or longer with the line going around the corner and all the way upstairs.
After the ceremony we took the limo to the Sears Tower (aka Willis) and dropped off the family for some sightseeing. That gave us a bit of time before their lunch for some portraits at Navy Pier. Now it might not be windy in the actual city of Chicago but on the pier is a different story. Walking out to the very edge to get the best view of the lighthouse the gusts were 20-30mph. But they braved the cold and rocked the poses! After the pier I saw one additional little spot across the street underneath Lake Shore Drive and we hopped out among the traffic to get the last few images before saying our goodbyes.
