Chicago Riverside Vintage Engagement // Gricel + Edgar

As has been popular with a number of sessions that we’ve shot over the last couple years, Gricel and Edgar hopped on board with doing a “themed” engagement session featuring vintage cars. Let’s start off by talking about what a “themed” shoot is. Typically it’s one that tells a story and has a cohesive feel from start to finish. The ideas are countless and as I get to know each person that comes into the studio, the ideas typically spring from there.

Gricel and Edgar mentioned that they would have some guys from their car club at the wedding with some of their vintage and restored cars. Right after they said that I had an idea that would involve two cars for their engagement session. The idea was this…the girls are walking around and come across the boys who are trying to show off their hot ride. At first, the girls do indeed approach the guys and it looks like a score! But the boys are quickly shot down and the girls proceed down the street. The chase doesn’t end there as the guys continue after them in the car. Their quest is soon interrupted as the girls walk up to their own impressive ride and blow a kiss back to the boys. This was just a fun little twist and went into a non-traditional route of engagement photography.

Of course in the end we still got a number of images of the two of them together which you will find towards the end.
