There’s just something about Stans Donuts that has me coming back there time and time again. Not just any Stans but mostly the location in Wicker Park. The first time was when I stopped in with Melissa and Ryan to warm up with a coffee. The time after that was actually not in the shop but instead we brought the donuts with us to Millennium Park.
Nicole and Reggie now live in the suburbs but wanted to return to the Wicker Park Stans Donuts as a memory of where they met. The date began there and we had to get some donuts…for photo purposes only of course 🙂 There’s this simple yet colorfully amazing wall of mixers on display that we absolutely had to feature. Space is tight at Stans so we mostly worked at the one available table. Note the familiar signature Stans shot with a new twist!
In case you’re wondering where the next set of images were captured, that is the discreet entrance of Violet Hour. If you’ve never been, this eclectic little spot features a dark and intimate lounge with high back chairs and an absinth happy hour on Thursdays! There are of course a few house rules which include “No cell phone usage of any kind”. Yes this means that you have to actually have a conversation with the folks that you’re with. If you’re curious, other rules include no baseball hats, no Budweiser, no Grey Goose and you’re asked not to bring anyone with you that you wouldn’t bring to your mother’s house for Sunday dinner. I highly suggest you check it out the next time you’re in Wicker.
