Ahh the good ole’ South Pond at the Lincoln Park Zoo. The one thing that can be said about this location is that it’s a magnetic destination for engaged couples wanting to capture their photos! And who can blame them!? The South Pond location provides a splendid combination of city and nature. You can be paddling around the pond in a boat for two, surrounded by a lot of greenery and have a great view of the city off in the background.
The real challenge in a location such as this is to take it and adapt it to each client. The secret in accomplishing this is to have each person bring their own personality to the location rather than to adapt to it. So we kicked it off at South Pond and then headed deeper into the city towards Merchandise Mart for a few final images just as the sun disappeared and the gritty lighting of the city kicked in. As fall was swinging into action and the temperatures were dropping. It was a brisk but comfortable evening for a session. As the sun set even further we put on some fall fashioned coats and bears jerseys for a few final captures!
