In a perfect world we would all take an engagement trip around the world just as Jean-Pierre and Ellen did. Chicago was one of their stops in December and we got together for fun shoot around the city. We aimed to capture the city but avoid the classic / iconic shots and keep it more gritty and funky. As you can expect with city weather, the day began with snow and then magically became sunny and 10 degrees warmer. The Waldorf Astoria was ever so kind and gave us just a few minutes to capture a couple photos before venturing out into the December winter.
To avoid the afternoon rush we went towards the Fulton Market district for our first stop. Fulton gives you a totally different view of Chicago when compared to the classic skyline near the Adler Planetarium. They wanted their images to feel like Chicago but not touristy so we had to think out of the box and plan our stops accordingly. Every time we changed locations we aimed to stay away from the “been there done that” spots. Once we had a mix of images we decided to feature the Chicago theater to tie it all together. I’m excited to be capturing their wedding this summer in the Netherlands! Stay tuned…
