What do you do if you’re planning on having your wedding in the middle of a Chicago winter? You pack it with some fun family and friends and dance the night away! Lauren and Ilya actually don’t currently live in Chicago so their wedding was sort of like a destination for them. From their current home in New York, they decided that Chicago was a great central point for all of their friends and family to come together and celebrate with them.
Even though it was on the verge of freezing outside, we still managed to stop by the windy skyline for some classic Chicago style images. But most of the portraits ended up happening at their reception at Salvage One. As the night went on we got lot’s of fun and happy shots. But as I was heading out of the door at the end of the night I saw a set in the venue that you will see below at image #7. It was a half dilapidated set but the lights and TV worked! In my mind was born the idea of taking Lauren and Ilya and doing a sort of “Al & Peggy Bundy” type of image. Who says that watching TV as a kid doesn’t make you productive? This has easily become one of my personal favorite images.
