The Hyatt Regency O’Hare is a spectacular architectural gem in Rosemont and the wedding venue of Catherine and Nick. This was our second time back at this property and we came in with a fresh set of ideas. What we didn’t plan on was that Chicago Comicon was simultaneously happening at the Rosemont Convention Center next door. This lead to a variety of interesting characters passing by, coming and going, including Halo’s Master Chief (see below).
This wedding also had one other twist in that I was fortunate to have my good friend and fellow photographer, Sergey Ivanov in town as my second photographer for this wedding. While he’s normally the one directing at one of his workshops, here we reversed roles and I played captain. Sergey is just as good as a second shooter as he is leading and the groomsmen all had a blast communicating with him using sign language.
After the ceremony at Holy Apostles Church, portraits continued at the hotel. The slowly rotating bar on the top floor gives a perfect view of the property and bonus entertainment for guests. The very last image you’ll see below is an idea that came to mind and was shot from the bar as it slowly revolved. The Hyatt Regency O’Hare offers an absolutely amazing space and staff to host your wedding. To see more of the happy couple you can see their engagement photos here.
