It’s a bit of a drive to Wisconsin but hosting a Grand Geneva wedding is a great getaway. Elizabeth and Peter arranged to have a weekend with their family and friends with our neighbors to the north. Since it’s just an hour from Chicago, it’s a destination wedding that won’t break the bank for guests!
The day began with everyone getting ready at the resort. We were given a golf cart and headed off to capture the first look and some portraits on one of the local docks. No portrait session would be complete without photos on the golf course itself since Peter is an avid golfer. While some couples choose to have their ceremony on property, they opted to have theirs at a church not far away.
The reception was in a unique space located next to the resort called the Ski Chalet. In the winter this is of course home to the ski shop, lift tickets and hot chocolate but in the summer it transforms to a cozy reception spot. Not only is there a private bar area but an outdoor patio completes the night with a fire pit. Grab some marshmallows, your bridal party and cozy up with a nice toasty fire!
