Mandy and Joe have opted to do one shoot per year from 2020-2022 (not by choice). First, we did their engagement session last year, then they had a family wedding this year and the really big wedding is next year. Now that’s what I call, spreading out the fun.
While it was a full ceremony, the wedding day itself was short and sweet with the couple heading straight to St. Peter’s for the ceremony, followed by the reception immediately across the street at Roanoke. St. Peter’s might be smack in the loop, but inside you’re instantly removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. If there’s one part of the day that I love to have an intimate feeling, it’s the ceremony.
If I was to ask you, how do you see the city of Chicago in your mind? The most common answer might be the iconic skyline which is truly unlike any other in the world. While places such as Navy Pier or the Adler Planetarium are great, the views from WITHIN can be just as epic. When you’re in the financial district, you can rotate in any direction and have a picturesque view. The other amazing part is that the area is usually empty during off-hours (evenings/weekends). From there we headed back a few blocks to Roanoke for cocktails and dinner. And frankly, Roanoke itself offers plenty of moody and sultry portrait spots. What a fun day, fun couple, and fun photos! Mandy and Joe rocked it.
