Alice In Wonderland Engagement Session

From kids to adults, if you hear someone utter the words “Alice In Wonderland Engagement”…you know you’re in for a great ride.  Brittany and David spent a good amount of time planning and preparing for their engagement session with a number of trips to Goodwill stores.  The great thing about the stores is that their stock is constantly changing from week to week.  When we began planning the shoot, it was very important to keep it feeling realistic in nature.

The first thing we had to think about were the characters.  Alice is an easy and obvious choice of course.  To me they felt more like the Queen of Hearts and Mad Hatter so we tossed around some ideas.  Brittany initially had her heart set on being Alice, but soon thought the title of “Queen” was a great match. In our version of the story it’s actually the Queen and Hatter who are a couple and in love.

The setting for our story became the next critical element to find.  Believe it or not, the woods you see in the images is surrounded by open fields and playgrounds on either side.  Placement of the props and lights is what took most of the first hour.  If the location isn’t just right, you’d be able to see folks playing and wandering around.  But soon after that we started the session and Brittany and David fell right into character.  Without a doubt they were a spectacular couple to pull off this theme.
