Yana and I were waiting for the later afternoon for her photo session. It is nice to get away from the light around midday so we ended up having some extra time to grab a bite to eat once I had all my gear packed and her makeup was done as we waiting for it to get later in the day. Lunch was at a place called Twin Anchors down in Chicago just off of North Ave, and if you’ve never heard of Twin Anchors, then you’ve been missing out on some of the best ribs that you can sink your teeth into. A perfect meal before a few hours of photos. We made it out to North Beach and grabbed the roller blades out of the car for our first series of shots. The biggest trick to the series of roller blade images was trying to capture them without getting others passing by in the background. Strong winds that day limited where we could shoot due to sand being blown all over the beach…those winds ended up being tornadoes later that evening.

Great time working with Yana, she brought a lot of energy to her shoot and was pretty down with trying just about any pose. This included me directing her to repeatedly jump up and down in the sand while wearing heels and then later double park and run down into a tunnel that goes under Lake Shore Drive for a few final images. Now I would continue to ramble in this post, but my guess is that you would much rather look at images of a pretty girl rather than read whatever it is that I have to say so I’ll call it a day here!
