The Drake Hotel Engagement – Doreen + Dan

The Drake Hotel is the perfect spot for a Gatsby themed engagement session. It’s not just the style of the hotel which provides a perfect vintage backdrop, but also the sheer volume and size of the hotel which draws you in. Located on the lake front in Chicago, this historic hotel was built in the roaring 1920’s and has been visited by folks including past presidents such as Hoover and Eisenhower, entertainers Liz Taylor and Frank Sinatra, and most importantly by Doreen and Dan who selected the hotel for a portion of their engagement session.

The premise of the shoot was that you have a classic story of guy meets girl, a bit of tension is felt between them and finally he wins her over. It’s one thing to just go ahead and get dressed up in a specific style of clothing, but I feel that it’s important to tell a story as well. When we go see a movie, what we see is not just a bunch of actors on set holding props and wearing costumes. Instead what the director and the rest of the cast attempt to do is to totally immerse the viewers in the story. Your engagement session can go as far as your imagination will take you!
